XNET Improvement Proposals (XIP)
Introduction to XIP Process
XIPs are how the XNET community proposes and approves changes to tokenomics, network policy, governance, and ecosystem direction. Proposals may cover technical upgrades, emissions and reward structures, operational policy, partnerships, and other initiatives that affect the network.
Who Can Submit
Any community member may draft a proposal. Authors are typically deployers, builders, or contributors with direct stake in the outcome. Drafts are published for transparency and revision.
Proposal Format
Each XIP should include a clear title, author(s), summary, rationale, specification or implementation details, and expected impact on operators, token holders, and the broader ecosystem.
Review and Discussion
New proposals are brought before the XNET Working Group (WG) — a mix of active deployers, builders, and community participants who evaluate network impact, feasibility, and alignment with XNET's long-term goals.
Before a vote, proposals go through open discussion in WG meetings and community channels. Authors are expected to respond to feedback and revise drafts where needed. Not every idea proceeds to a vote; some are deferred, amended, or withdrawn based on that discussion.
Voting
When a proposal is ready, it is presented to the Working Group for a formal vote. WG members weigh trade-offs, operator impact, tokenomics effects, and implementation risk — not just surface-level approval.
Outcomes include Passed, Rejected, or In Development (for proposals still being refined or partially adopted). Passed XIPs move to implementation by the Foundation and relevant teams, with progress tracked through WG updates.
After Approval
Implemented XIPs are monitored for intended effect. Material changes or follow-on amendments may require a new XIP or a revision to an existing one.
